Design
At Great Heath Academy we follow the White Rose Maths Programme. This programme develops children’s understanding of mathematical concepts using concrete, pictorial and abstract approaches. Children will use a range of resources to develop their conceptual understanding of the procedures they use.
Delivery
Maths is taught daily in classes. Lessons are structured to revise previous topics, consolidate calculation and number though quick quizzes and include opportunities for daily counting. term.
Impact
Self assessment is used in maths lessons along with teacher assessment. Each term children are formally assessed using NTS tests. Gap analysis from these tests drive interventions. The maths lead monitors the subject though looking at the books, talking with pupils and staff.
