Children will receive homework every week and if there is a holiday coming up, they will receive extra. We don’t want you getting bored now do we!

The type of homework that will be set is alternated so that one week they receive English homework and the following week it will be Maths.

Reading

We ask that you encourage your children to read at home as much as possible, either on their own, to a sibling or with you. It helps us to develop our imagination, learn new vocabulary and much much more. We can read at any time, for however long and wherever we want.

Question: where is the strangest place that you and your children have ever read a book? (Mrs Firek’s is in a den built out of chairs, pillows, duvets and bed sheets!)

Spelling

Every week, on a Friday, we have a spelling test. We appreciate your help in encouraging and supporting your children as they learn, practise and use their spellings each week.

Music

We are lucky enough to be learning how to play the guitar with Mr Morley on a Friday every week. He has provided a guitar for every child so that they can bring it home and practise with. Please remind your children to bring their guitars back to school on Thursday ready for their lesson the next day.
