Children: If you are worried about anything, you can talk to Childline. No problem is too big or too small. Call Childline free on 0800 1111 or get in touch online (www.childline.org.uk). However you choose to get in contact, you’re in control. It’s confidential and you don’t have to give your name if you don’t want to.

Parents: If you are concerned about the safety of a child, contact Customer First on 0808 800 4005 (free from landlines and most mobiles). Opening hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 5:20pm, Fridays 8am to 4:20pm (excluding bank holidays). Outside these hours this number will divert to the Emergency Duty Service who can deal with any matters that cannot wait until the next working day. You can also contact Customer First online at https://infolink.suffolk.gov.uk/kb5/suffolk/infolink/advice.page?id=NYFIzl7NuJU

Internet Safety: During this period that the school is closed there will be an increased expectation that the children will be on the internet doing the work that has been set by the teachers. Given the circumstances, it’s OK for children to be on their screens more than usual. Try letting them use their devices for short periods at a time a few times during the day – rather than binge-watching over one long period. Remember not all screen time is bad, so why not watch educational and fun shows with them? Remember to supervise what they are viewing, ensure that parental controls are enabled and look carefully at your filters. Most internet companies will have timed filters that you can set to ensure that children are not able to view inappropriate material.
